Philosophy

The Mission of the SCCA® is to fuel a safe, fun and exciting motorsports experience for automotive enthusiasts. The Club’s Vision is to be the preferred motorsports community in the United States, built on fun, shared passion and access to an exhilarating motorsports experience.

The visual identity of the Club reflects the excitement our members feel whilst participating in the 2,000+ events a year which SCCA sanctions.

The following pages will guide you through the proper graphic elements to be used in materials using and referencing the SCCA Brand. If you have any questions about usage, please reach out to our Creative Manager.

History

From a handful of car enthusiasts meeting in a brick home at 140 Mount Vernon Street in Boston, to a nationwide Club boasting 67,500 members, the Sports Car Club of America® has come a long way since its 1944 inception.

The SCCA brand reflects the pride of a club that has grown with the times and developed into the Club that you know today.

Photos used in conjunction with the SCCA brand are immersive. They depict situations that make the viewer desire to take the place of the subject. They are dynamic and exciting.

Images used for print applications must have a resolution of at least 300 ppi (pixels per inch). Images used for web or digital applications must have a resolution of at least 72 ppi.

Regions and members are allowed to produce merchandise and apparel using the appropriate SCCA branding, but are reminded that all National SCCA apparel and merchandise is purchased through Shirts101/SCCA Gear. With increased quantities come decreased prices for all. Please consider using SCCA Gear for your Region merchandise and apparel. Setup of region logos is free.

SCCA Red conveys the boldness of spirit and excitement in every SCCA event. The consistency of this color is essential to the universal familiarity of the logo.

The other primary colors used throughout the SCCA brand are black and gray as defined below.

The current primary logo was developed in the late 2000s to combine the historic wire wheel emblem with bold and modern block letters. Together, the elements tie together a logo that depicts the strength of the SCCA. The standard logo is the default logo option when in doubt.

The standard logo is available for use in four color variations to ensure consistency across applications. See those variations below.

The SCCA has developed a new brand mark to commemorate its 75th Anniversary in 2019. The mark is intended to be used in all appropriate SCCA National and Regional communications and was developed specifically to help the SCCA celebrate its “Diamond Anniversary.” The design was created to help
convey 3 key points, quickly and clearly:

· Communicate the SCCA’s “born on date” (1944) and the notion that the SCCA will be celebrating 75 years of motorsports excellence in 2019
· In concert with the above, make sure the SCCA’s legacy mark - the “wire wheel” is at the center of overall design itself
· Through the overall design and the use of the “diamond shape” in the background, convey a sense of the past, the present and the future (3 Points of the triangle) for the SCCA
